Spring 2026

The burst of Spring

The arrival of spring is always special and never fails to amaze. I love the speed with which some plants embrace the warming sun, maximising their reproductive cycles before other plants are only just waking up. Like the bluebells in Knotts Wood Harpenden, before the broadleaves close the canopy above their heads. You can feel this sweet chestnut in my neighbourhood just bursting to bring out its long, elegant flowers. So much energy, it’s hard not to feel energised oneself.
