Autumn 2025
The abundance of Autumn
The growing season winds down, yet there is still so much abundance. A hawthorn tree bursting with fruit after a long, sunny summer. Local woodland feels slow, the activities of the summer having earned everything a well earned change of pace. The morning sun drifting through the trees at Ashridge Park.
One day, while passing some time in Knotts Wood during a lengthy dog walk, I stopped under a large beech. The leaves were turning and they looked translucent against a grey autumn sky. I couldn’t resist desaturating the image to show off the contrast of the trunk and branches, as the leaves were being gradually lost to the sky.
